A New Life

As I write this, my second great-grandchild, who is also my first great-granddaughter, is coming into this world.  I’m waiting “on pins and needles” for the official announcement.  A birth in the family is such an exciting time.  It is also a time for reflection.  From my viewpoint as the “matriarch” of the family, I think about the legacy I shall one day leave behind in the form of my family.  Nothing could be more precious or valuable.  It’s also a good time to remember to slow down and treasure each and every moment of our lives.  I can hardly wait to see that beautiful little face and count each of those fingers and toes.  It’s such a blessing to be able to experience the joy of a new life.
